I have created five mixed media pieces for children. Each is a different animal decorated with tiny jewels. These are perfect for a baby's room or for an anti-Pottery Barn feel. (I've nothing against Pottery Barn for kids but I think it is be more lovely to have some original art on the wall). My folk art pieces are whimsical and delicate and will hopefully appeal to children and adults alike......enjoy xxx

Saturday went well. It was a gorgeous sunny day and lots of people stopped by my stall to see my Beetle Blossom folk art. I sold a few pieces and sat in the sunshine enjoying the cool Beehive vibes. The photos show some of my Halloween themed art work. Lots of black and orange....

Beetle Blossom will be open for business next weekend at the Beehive Market in Berkeley. I am busy making collages, roof tiles and flower wreaths. I also hope to be selling some paper mache pieces over the coming weeks. I have just finished these 2 Book and Button collages.

I will be selling these new Book and Button collages at The Beehive Market too. They are very 'green'. I make the collage on a salvaged book cover (I use the pages for my paper flowers). Then I stick this to wood plaques that I get at Good Will, or Urban Ore, here in Berkeley. Also the buttons that I am using are all vintage. I hope you like them!

My new adventure....

It is finally happening - I am getting a stall at a market to sell my work. I am very excited to be setting up my 'shop' on Saturday 25th September at The Beehive Market in Berkeley. I will be selling a mixture of mixed media folk art including painted roof tiles, collages, paper flowers and cards. I will still be showing my 'fine art' on my other blog, Alexandra Beetle, so I will provide updates of when I do this. The Beehive Market is a really fun group of vendors, artists and musicians in West Berkeley so come on over on the 25th and be a part of Beetle Blossom.......
